If a physical controller is set to emulate both a GameCube Controller and a Wii Remote concurrently, it will operate both devices at the same time. After considering your warnings about seriously randomizing everything, I chose to completely disregard them and have been having ever since. However, I have come across an issue I think you should know about concerning Chapter 5's Royal Ring quest. I spent a long time trying to collect the ring from the specified monster Dwarf, in this case but it was only dropping Field Warps instead. After learning how to understand the output log, I think I see the problem. It looks like the monsters that are responsible for dropping the Royal Ring Monster ID s have had their drops randomized to other items.
However, the Royal Ring does not appear to be randomized anywhere else, making it impossible to progress.
